Abstract:
We are assembling a consistent database that contains map and plot data describing the vegetation of Arctic Alaska. The map data are presented in a hierarchy of scales, from the plot level to the circumpolar arctic. The maps include many geobotanical themes, including vegetation, soils, landform, and geology. We also include vegetation maps based on satellite image classification. The plot data have been assembled into a consistent database, with a unifying Pan-Arctic Species List. Data sets that include complete species lists and cover values are being included. Ancillary data such as environmental characteristics and spectral data are included where available.
