Biosphere Meeting
The Hotel at the University of Maryland
College Park, MD
July 7-10, 2026
The NASA Biosphere Science Sphere is an umbrella under which four program elements (Land-Cover and Land-Use Change, Ocean Biology and Biogeochemistry, Terrestrial Ecology and Biological Diversity) provide knowledge of the interactions of global biogeochemical cycles and terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems with global environmental change and the implications for Earth's climate, productivity, and natural resources. This event will combine input and community members from these programs and their Earth Action counterpart program, Ecological Conservation, which takes research capability built from Biosphere projects and develops it into decision making capability for conservation agents and land managers.

The Biosphere Meeting will occur Tuesday through Friday (July 7th-10th). It will be a mixture of plenaries, breakout sessions, and poster sessions. See Agenda.

This meeting will be in-person and by invitation only.

Who can attend?
This Biosphere meeting is for principal investigators, co-investigators, collaborators, stakeholders and students funded through NASA's Biosphere research programs (Land-Cover and Land-Use Change, Ocean Biology and Biogeochemistry, Terrestrial Ecology and Biological Diversity), as well as Ecological Conservation, to provide an opportunity to share scientific research results and foster interdisciplinary interactions. This meeting is by invitation only. If you are interested in attending and did not receive an invitation, please contact Support.
