Speed Talk

A Speed Talk is a 5 minute presentation that conveys basic information about a project with the intent of introducing projects seeking collaboration (e.g. research, data products). Speed Talks will be immediately followed by a poster session to provide an opportunity for discussion and facilitate collaboration. The JSW Organizing Committee will select presenters to give Speed Talks prior to each of the three poster sessions.

Speakers may want to follow a very simple format such as:

• Introduction (What are the key questions being asked or problem solved?)
• Body (What was done to answer the questions or solve the problem?)
• Conclusions (What is the take-away message?)

NOTES:

1. The 5 minute time limit and 6 slide maximum will be strictly enforced!
2. Speed talk does not imply that speakers talk quickly. Short Talk would be a better name but we are following conventions used elsewhere.
