The NASA-funded Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) Distributed Active Archive Center (DAAC) archives and distributes terrestrial biogeochemical dynamics data collected as part of the NASA's Earth Observing System (EOS) Program. The mission of the ORNL DAAC is to assemble, distribute, and provide data services for a comprehensive archive of terrestrial biogeochemistry and ecological dynamics observations and models to facilitate research, education, and decision-making in support of NASA’s Earth science. The DAAC's ~1,100 data sets are primarily from ground-based field investigations and augmented by data collected through remote-sensing techniques. The ORNL DAAC also provides several tools and services for accessing and visualizing its data.
ORNL DAAC is currently archiving data products generated the North American Carbon Program and the Multi-scale Synthesis and Model Intercomparison Project (MsMTIP). In addition, the DAAC is making plans to archive terrestrial ecology data from the Arctic Boreal Vulnerability Experiment field campaign and from the CARVE and AirMOSS (higher level products) airborne campaigns.
