Abundant opportunities exist to develop new scientific uses of existing satellite data products. For example, early innovators have (1) applied existing data products to new and completely different scientific problems; (2) applied multiple, complementary products to a single science problem, often employing novel data fusion and data assimilation approaches; and, (3) created integrated analysis systems that combine satellite data products with airborne sensor data, networks of ground observations, and/or models. This talk will feature examples of such novel approaches and provide a forum for discussion of additional innovative ideas.
