(Presenter)
Satellite ocean color has moved beyond chlorophyll a concentration relatively recently. New and innovative products, relevant to understanding ocean ecosystems and their biogeochemistry, are now derived from satellite remote sensing data. The goal of the Ocean Color MEaSUREs Project is to produce and distribute some of these new products for use and evaluation by the community. The proposed products to be evaluated include spectral apparent and inherent optical properties, Net Primary Production (NPP), Particle Size Distribution (PSD), Phytoplankton Functional Types (PFT's) or merged products from multiple sensors (SeaWiFS, MODIS, MERIS). Examples of current and future products from the ocean color MEaSUREs project are presented along with information on how, where and when to get the data.
