Panel date/time: Tuesday, April 21, 3:15 pm – 4:30 pm
Location: College Park Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, Maryland
Panel description: “Uncertainty” has a broad and varied meaning within and outside the Carbon Cycle & Ecosystems (CC&E) community. Characterizing and quantifying uncertainty in remote sensing products is a challenging problem in itself, as is propagating uncertainty when incorporating products into models. An additional complexity is communicating uncertainty to those involved in decision support. This panel focuses on how uncertainty in remote sensing products is characterized, as well as communicated to the end user community and how end users incorporate product uncertainty into their decision making process.
